Today is World Plumbing Day!

Every year, March 11th is known as World Plumbing Day. This is an important
observance; as plumbing is usually taken for granted. This mentality has
lead to people being wasteful with water. World Plumbing Day provides
an opportunity to shed light on this important issue. Below are some ways
to conserve water.

  • Dishwasher use less water than washing dishes by hand. If you are in the
market for a new dishwasher, choose an energy efficient Energy Star model.
  • Do you have a toilet in your home that was installed prior to 1992? If
so, replacing it with a new energy efficient toilet could help you conserve
water. Low-flow toilets only use 1.6 gallons of water per flush.
  • Some people enjoy taking long showers. However, it is best to keep showers
to just 5 minutes. It will save up to 1,000 gallons of water per month!
  • It is easy to ignore a small leak in one of your faucets. Nonetheless,
each little drop adds up. If you need to have a leak fixed, call the professional
plumbers at Lancaster Plumbing, Heating and Cooling.

At Lancaster Plumbing, Heating and Cooling, we are always looking for new
ways to increase the energy efficiency of your plumbing system. If you
