The Different Types of Bedroom Lighting
So you’ve decided to redo the look of your master bedroom because you wanted a little change in your life. One of the most important things you should focus on is picking the right type of lighting for your needs. Since your bedroom is your own personal haven, you want the lighting to be as perfect as it can be!
- Overhead – One of the most common sources of lighting for a bedroom will usually come from overhead lighting. By choosing a fixture such as a chandelier, you can light up the entire space while also having a centerpiece for the room. If you opt to have overhead lighting, be sure to have a dimmer switch installed so you can adjust the amount of light you want at any given time.
- Wall Sconces – For a room that has a piece of art or architecture that you would like to highlight, add a set of wall sconces. This type of lighting will cast its light to help draw your attention to it when you walk in the room.
- Floor Lamps – Not every person is going to want overhead lighting in their bedroom. If you plan on skipping the overhead lighting option, consider installing floor lamps. These lamps are recommended over table lamps, as they will shine more light throughout the room. However, you’ll need two or more of these lamps to have an adequate amount of lighting in the room.
- Table Lamps – For those who like to get in some reading or extra work from the office as they lay in bed, throw in a table lamp or two for your nightstands. This will give you enough lighting in the area right next to your bed. Nothing like a few good pages of a book to tire your eyes for bed!
