How to Keep Cool at a Summer Party
The highlight of most people’s summers are the parties they attend to see their friends and family. A majority of these gatherings occur at a person’s home, but many will take place outside in the backyard. In order to stay cool at your summer parties, make sure you provide your guests with these select things:
- Hydrating Drinks – One of the best ways to cool off, is to drink something cold and refreshing. While most parties will feature some liquor and booze, make sure there is an area where guests can refuel with cold water. Consider having multiple dispensers of naturally flavored water with different types of fruit!
- Fresh Frozen Fruit – We all know cold drinks can cool off a person, but what about food? In order to do this, slice up some of the tastiest fruits (watermelon, grapes, etc.), pop them onto a stick, and place them in the freezer. Once cold enough, pass these out to your guests so they can snack on something delicious and beat the heat.
- Shady Areas – Summer parties are meant to be enjoyed outside so you can have some fun in the sun! However, too much sun is not always fun. Provide guests with areas of shade by setting up a tent or a canopy over a set of tables. Just make sure the canopies can be adjusted since the sun will change positions throughout the day.
- Cooling Off Inside – Sometimes the heat can be too much for hours at a time. Some people will be forced to cool off inside of the air conditioned house. Since you’re spending a majority of the day outside, you don’t have to keep the thermostat on 72 degrees like you do on a normal day. However, the house should still be cooled to a reasonable temperature for guests that need an escape from the heat.
