How to Make a Small Bathroom Feel Bigger
Having a master bathroom with multiple sinks, a large bathtub, a walk-in shower, and a walk-in closet is pretty much everyone’s dream. Unfortunately, most of us are stuck with a bathroom that’s just big enough to stand in. If you have a small bathroom, don’t you worry; there are some things you can do in order to make it feel bigger.
Easy Access Having open shelving in your bathroom will take a lot of the bulk away from the walls where normal cabinets would be. These shelves can also reduce clutter and force you to throw away things that you normally wouldn’t want to see. Just be sure to have them finished so they can withstand the moisture that exists in bathrooms.
Lighten Up Dark colors in a bathroom can actually make it seem smaller. Instead, lighten up the colors to allow the light to be reflected, rather than it being absorbed by the dark. This can be a good chance for you to show your creative side and try an exotic or tropical color. Make a unique room in your home that is truly one of a kind.
Glass Doors When you have a shower curtain closed, you won’t be able to see the inside of the shower. While this might not affect the actual size of the bathroom, it does make the bathroom appear smaller. By installing a glass shower door, you’ll be able to see the extra square footage of your bathroom that is normally hidden.
Mirror on the Wall Hanging a large mirror in the bathroom will instantly make the room feel bigger. Not only will it trick your brain into thinking that there is more to the room, but it will also reflect light like light colored paint would. As an added bonus, you’ll have extra mirror space for multiple people to use in the morning.
